Dandelions (2025)
For Bits & Pieces Theatre

I directed Bits & Pieces Theatre's debut production Dandelions, set in a post-apocalyptic world where only trans+ people remain.

Incorporating drama, comedy, and elements of cabaret performance, with no fourth-wall in sight, this production premiered in the Aphra Theatre, a 140 seat studio in Canterbury, Kent, before heading on a sold-out regional tour.

Working with experienced and new actors from the LGBTQ+ community, my priority for this project was creating a strong, supportive ensemble and rehearsal process, ensuring actor safety and comfort, and using lived experience as a creative tool ethically.

Bits & Pieces Theatre Company are currently in residency at the University of Kent, creating new work and supporting the creative development of local trans and non-binary artists. I direct all of our theatre productions and lead the strategic planning of the company, as well as producing and hosting their cabaret nights, workshops and masterclasses.

What I Always Wanted (2024)

Directed by myself and written by Sarah Rose Jamieson, What I Always Wanted is a solo performance following the rise and downfall of a high-profile actress, and the supernatural exchange that made it all happen.

The piece explores fame, identity, loyalty, and female autonomy.

Paying tribute to Marlowe's Dr Faustus, this modern-day adaptation depicts what it means to have everything you want, as well as the consequences.

Chrimblesense (2024)
For Embracing Arts

PHOTO-2024-11-22-18-49-28.jpg

I had the joy of assistant directing the 2024 nationally touring production of Chrimblesense, a charity funded festive show designed for young people and adults with special educational needs, profound and multiple learning disabilities or those living in hospice, as well as their families, carers and staff.

This musical production featured sensory engagement, audience interaction and a dynamic, flexible performance structure. My focus was on actor care, directing scenes with understudying in mind, training actors in inclusive interaction with audiences, as well as props management.

A Number (2023)

Before graduating, I directed a production of Caryl Churchill's A Number, a two-hander in which a man discovers that he is a clone and confronts his father. This was thoughtfully adapted for a 2020's audience who have to contemplate individuality, bodily autonomy and safety of identity more than ever. I also re-gendered the characters as mother and child, changing the interpersonal dynamic and context of the story entirely.

The entire production was set in front of a completely mirrored wall, with minimal set, allowing the audience to reflect on their own identities and roles as bystanders in this story.
