Background
Hey there, thanks for visiting my website!
I'm Brooke, an all-around creative who loves to create and capture anything to do with live theatre, audience connection and nurturing artists and communities.
I studied at the University of Kent and received a First Class degree in Drama and Film. In this time, I made connections with local theatre companies and supported on rehearsed readings and performances, joined the stand-up comedy circuit, and began my photography career, starting with events on campus and then securing professional work.
After graduating, I co-founded Bits & Pieces Theatre Company, a collective of trans and non-binary artists looking to create opportunities for LGBTQ+ artists by producing new work, hosting workshops, arranging networking and curating a regular cabaret night.
Gender inclusivity and LGBTQ+ rights are an essential part of my practice, and I believe that no participant is too young or old, experienced or inexperienced, to be educated and supported in becoming more accepting, inclusive theatremakers and human beings.
I've been employed as a Theatre Facilitator by venues such as The Marlowe Theatre and The Gulbenkian Theatre both during my degree and up to now. I have gained great experience working in youth theatre settings as a facilitator, coordinator and chaperone, leading sessions and producing shows in collaboration with our young artists.
My experience facilitating youth theatre and working with charities such as Embracing Arts have made me well versed in accessibility and how to create theatre that is inclusive and enjoyable for disabled people - whether this be as an audience member or participant.
I have also supported artists in dramaturgy or script consultancy for new plays, and am always open to enquiries or offering thoughts, advice or reviews on new work.
I believe I will always have something to learn, and should always be trying to do something new. Hence the variety on this website! I love to entertain people, instil confidence, and bring out the best in actors. Any job in the creative arts, I find incredibly rewarding.
I also have experience as a theatre crew member backstage, as well as duty managing theatre venues front of house. For more information on these roles, or anything else in my experience, please get in touch!
